The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has claimed that its presidential candidate for the 2019 elections, Atiku Abubakar, was harassed by some security agents on his arrival from Dubai.
In a statement on Sunday, the PDP alleged that the “deadly-squad,” acting on ‘orders from above’ rushed Atiku once he landed at the airport.
The statement further said that “The PDP is for peace, but we will not accept this recourse to violence.”
It said that President Muhammadu Buhari was never harassed when he was a candidate under the PDP-led federal government.
In addition, the statement described the development as an assault on the nation’s democracy.
