Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has said Romelu Lukaku has returned to training and is being assessed ahead of Sunday’s derby against Manchester City.
Lukaku missed United’s last two games – late comebacks on the road against Bournemouth and Juventus – through injury.
Mourinho, speaking at his Friday news conference, said: “Lukaku is training with the team this morning.
“If the answer is positive – and we have of course one more session tomorrow – he is ready. In this moment, I can only say that he trains with the team,” Mourinho said.
Lukaku was dropped by Mourinho in the 2-1 win against his former side Everton at Old Trafford two weeks ago – the last game he featured in before sustaining the injury.
