Legendary Arsenal defender Martin Keown has criticised Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s performance during the Gunners’ goalless draw against Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League.
The Gunner found it hard to play against the Portuguese side but had chances to snatch a win but failed to do so.
Aubameyang came on towards the end of the first half after an injury to Danny Welbeck and saw three excellent chances pass him by.
Reacting to the misses while speaking on BT Sport, Keown said Aubameyang needs to step up at the club.
He said: “Aubameyang let Arsenal down.
“He is the closest thing to Thierry Henry since he left that club. He really is that good. And someone should really be in his camp pushing him on.
“Dragging him, drawing a performance out of him. Because he’s a special talent, scores lots of goals and it’s just a hunger.
“It’s getting to that boiling point and I don’t think he was there tonight.”
