African champions Nigeria will tackle Asec Mimosas U16 boys in a tune-up for the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations on Friday.
The game will be played at the Sol Beni Stadium in Côte d’Ivoire’s commercial city Abidjan.
“I think it is always good to play friendly because some other players came to camp lately,” coach of the side, Thomas Dennerby, told newsmen in Abidjan.
“Hopefully, the one or two games and some good training sessions in Abidjan will help us in preparing very well.”
The Super Falcons, who won the title for a record 8th time in 2016, will compete in Group B alongside perennial rivals South Africa, Equatorial Guinea and Zambia.
They will kick off their campaign against Banyana Banyana on 18 November, one day after host nation Ghana and Algeria will have kicked off the tournament in Group A.
The top two sides in the groups will progress to the semi-finals, while the eventual top three teams qualify for the 2019 Fifa Women’s World Cup in France.
