European champions Portugal have confirmed the absence of their all-time record scorer Cristiano Ronaldo for this month’s Nations League matches.
Portugal coach Fernando Santos had omitted the country’s captain from the squad in September and October.
He said that Ronaldo’s omission was based on a mutual consent following the player’s movefrom Real Madrid to Juventus as he needed time to adapt to life in Italy.
“It’s not just about Ronaldo, I have said that nobody is excluded. “It’s not worth creating a big fuss about it,” Santos said.
