The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for the investigation of the national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, over allegations of him receiving bribes during the party’s primaries.
This was made known on Thursday by the Secretary of the Edo State chapter of the PDP, Hon. Felix Imoisili.
The APC Chairman was reportedly questioned by operatives of the DSS for nine hours after some APC governors alleged that he received bribes during the party’s primary elections.
But the APC has denied knowledge of the detention and questioning of Oshiomhole.
Reacting to this development, Imoisili told Concise News that Oshiomhole no longer had the immunity he enjoyed as governor, hence, was not above the law.
He said: “Nobody is above the law and if Oshiomhole, as a national chairman of a party, has committed an infraction of the law, he should be made to face the wrath of the law.
“Oshiomhole is a Nigerian. He does not have immunity as the national chairman of the party.
“The constitution does not provide immunity for national chairmen of political parties, unlike when he (Oshiomhole) was the governor of a state.
“If they have sufficient evidence that he has compromised during the primary election he should be made to face the law.”
