The National President of the union, Professor Abiodun Ogunyemi, said Asuu took the decision due to the poor funding of universities in Nigeria.

Speaking on the development, many Nigerians, who took to Twitter, lamented the incessant strikes by the lecturers.

According to some of them, strike actions have become a common phenomenon with Asuu with an adverse effect on the country’s educational system.

However, others heaped the blame on the Federal Government for not doing its part by funding universities in the country.

Also, some of the tweeps went comically.
