President Muhammadu Buhari has met behind closed doors with three state governors from the South-West over the crisis currently rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governors are; Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo) and Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti).
The meeting was held inside Buhari’s residence at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting which was held inside Buhari’s residence was one of the efforts being made by the president to resolve the crisis that followed the primary elections of the party across the country.
Some state governors, including Amosun and Akeredolu, had been at loggerheads with the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, over the manner in which the primary elections were conducted in their states.
The Presidency has yet to issue a statement on the meeting of the three governors with the President as of the time of filing this report.
The governors, however, told the Nigerian Television Authority that they were at the Presidential Villa to assure Buhari of their continued support, ahead of the 2019 presidential elections.
