The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has finally presented an attestation certificate and confirmation of school certificate result to President Muhammadu Buhari. This was disclosed on Friday afternoon by the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina. Registrar of the body Iyi Uwadiae presented the Certificate to the President on Friday at the State House in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

President Muhammadu Buhari says it would have been impossible for him to have attended the Defence Services Staff College if he didn’t sit for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination in 1961. Buhari attended the aforementioned college in India in 1973, and thereafter, as a Nigerian military personnel, attended the United States Army War College. The president made these comments when he received the attestation and confirmation of his 1961 West African School Certificate (WASC) Examination result from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on Friday.

But the National Publicity Secretary of the opposition party, Kola Ologbodiyan, told journalists in Abuja that the PDP did not expect the president to, “come this low.”

Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has said the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomhole is showing disdain for the party. Amosun also noted that Oshiomhole is disrespecting President Muhammadu Buhari following the party’s primaries across the country. In a statement by the State’s Commissioner for Information Dayo Oduneye, Amosun accused Oshiomhole of going against the principles of democracy.

The Buhari Campaign Organisation has allegedly taken more than N60bn from several ministries and agencies of government to bankroll the 2019 presidential elections. According to a report from the LeadersNG, the Good Governance Awareness Campaigner Group of the Buhari Campaign Organisation collected the funds using names of different companies.

Media aide to the President Femi Adesina, in a statement made available to journalists, said Buhari spoke while receiving a delegation of Bassa Traditional Rulers and Elites led by, Alhaji Bako Dogwo, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
