The Nigerian army on Wednesday discovered the body of its missing General Retired Major General Idris Alkali who was killed and buried in Jos, Plateau State.
Alkali was allegedly killed and buried in a shallow grave at a location tagged “No man’s land” in Lafande community of Jos, but his remains were exhumed and relocated by unidentified members of Dura-du community after the army discovered his car in a pond of water in an abandoned mining pit.
This was revealed in a statement by the leader of the search and rescue operation, Brigadier General Umar Mohammed.
According to Gen Muhammaed, the body of Alkali was later found in Guchwet, Shen area of Jos South.
He noted that a parade would be held for the late retired general as an honour as well as a befitting burial.
