The self-acclaimed leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has described the murder of some members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), also known as Shi’ites as an evil.

Concise News reports that the  Nigerian Army had said the confrontation, on Zuba highway, on Saturday claimed lives of three persons rather than the five reported in the media.

Reacting to the murder, Kanu said the Nigerian army seizes every opportunity to turn peaceful protest to a theatre of war.

The pro-Biafra activist stressed that Britain, the United Nations and the European Union “cannot pretend they are not seeing what is happening”.

Kanu also used the opportunity to call for the release of all political detainees in the country with immediate effect.

“The Nigerian army seizes every opportunity to turn peaceful protest to a theatre of war. The barbaric murder of protesters on 29/10/2018 is evil. Britain, UN and EU cannot pretend they are not seeing what is happening. Release all political detainees now,” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, the protest of the Shi’ites members on Tuesday turned bloody in Wuse 2, Abuja, with several persons injured.

Concise News understands that members of the Islamic group were marching to the Central Business District of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital when they were stopped by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, who fired gunshots and teargas to disperse them.
