1. Leah Sharibu’s Abductors Demand N100bn Ransom
The abductors of Leah Sharibu have demanded N100bn ransom for her release. Leah is the only captive among the 119 students of Government Girls Secondary School, Dapchi, Yobe state, still with Boko Haram after the others were released in March, 2018. According to a diplomatic source who spoke with Punch newspaper, there were fears that if given the money, the terrorists could use the cash to acquire weapons with which they would unleash terror on innocent Nigerians in the future.
2. We Inherited $63bn Debt, Borrowed $10bn Since 2015 – Osinbajo
Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration inherited a debt of $63 billion and has only borrowed $10 billion since it took office in 2015. Osinbajo made the disclosure in Ibadan on Saturday during the 9th Public Lecture of Sigma Club at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.

Founder of the Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, has cursed all those responsible for the recent killings in Kaduna state, Nigeria’s northwest region, saying they will end up in shame. Blaming politicians for the killings, the President of one of the biggest churches in Nigeria said if they failed to change their ways, God would bring them down.
4. Ex-PDP BoT Chairman Tony Anenih Dies
A former Peoples Democratic Party Board of Trustees Chairman Anthony Anenih, has reportedly passed away. Anenih, who was appointed Minister of Works and Housing in 1999, died at age 85, on Sunday.
5. Presidency Speaks On Buhari’s WAEC Certificate
The Presidency has said those criticizing President Muhammadu Buhari’s inability to submit his West African Examinations Council (WAEC) certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are idle people. Speaking on the issue, Buhari’s media aide Femi Adesina described said those criticizing the President as having run out of ideas ahead of the polls.
6. Okorocha Begs APC To Field Son-in-law As Imo Guber Candidate
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has pleaded with the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to field his son-in-law as the party’s governorship candidate in the state. Okorocha made the plea in Owerri, on a day he also announced that he would pay N5billion out of the money owed pensioners and N9billion of the salaries to workers.
7. How Ex-Ekiti Governor Fayose Spent Weekend In Ikoyi Prison
Former governor of Ekiti State Ayodele Fayose who was granted bail by the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court on October 24th, reportedly spent the weekend in prison as he failed to meet his bail conditions. His media aide, Lere Olayinka on Friday afternoon tweeted, “on Fayose’s bail, as at 2pm today, all necessary documents were filed before the court and verified. Hopefully, he should be out of custody by Monday. We thank Nigerians for their support”.

President Muhammadu Buhari has extended his condolences to the Anenih family on the death of its patriarch, Anthony Anenih. The President who also commiserated with the government and people of Edo State and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) described the late Anenih as a frontline figure in the annals of the country’s political history.
