Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, is rumoured to be set to sack Julen Lopetegui in the coming hours and it is looking increasingly likely the former Spain coach will be replaced by Antonio Conte.
The 5-1 defeat to Barcelona on Sunday appears to have sealed Lopetegui’s fate.
It is understood that Perez left the Camp Nou immediately after the game, without speaking to the players or his coach.
Conte is expected to arrive as early as Monday, Marca reports.
If not, Santiago Solari will take temporary charge of the first team, for Wednesday’s Copa del Rey game against Melilla.
