Anthony Anenih

Senate President Bukola Saraki has mourned the death of a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees Chairman, Anthony Anenih.

Anenih, who was appointed Minister of Works and Housing in 1999, died at age 85, on Sunday.

Saraki described the late Anenih as a consummate elder statesman who played several defining roles throughout Nigeria’s democracy

The Senate President, in his condolence message on his Twitter handle, @bukolasaraki, said the late Anenih will be remembered for his great patriotism and his insight into national issues

He wrote; “Chief Tony Anenih, was a consummate elder statesman who played several defining roles throughout Nigeria’s democracy. He will be remembered for his great patriotism and his insight into national issues. He will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace, Chief.”
