Former Minister of Culture and Tourism Femi Fani-Kayode has expressed sadness over the passing away of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) former Board of Trustees Chairman, Anthony Anenih.

Anenih, who was appointed Minister of Works and Housing in 1999, died at age 85, on Sunday.

In his condolence message on his Twitter handle on Sunday, the PDP chieftain described the late Anenih as a great patriot, a nationalist and a warm and kindhearted elder statesman.

Fani-Kayode noted that Anenih was an insightful, courageous and dogged fighter for justice and liberty.

He wrote; “Chief Tony Anenih was a great patriot, a nationalist and a warm and kindhearted elder statesman. He was an insightful, courageous and dogged fighter for justice and liberty. He was an inspiration and a source of strength and hope to us all. Rest in peace great son of Nigeria.”
