The self-acclaimed leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, says he will only leave Nigeria alone if a referendum for the Republic of Biafra is conducted.
Concise News reports that the IPOB leader, who resurfaced in Jerusalem, Israel October 19, addressed ‘Biafrans’ last Sunday, speaking on Ayodele Fayose, his bail conditions, his return to Nigeria and more.
In the first broadcast via Radio Biafra, Kanu boasted: “I promised the Zoo that I will be coming to Biafra and I came. I do not recognise the court of the Zoo. I want the people of the Middle Belt to rise and join IPO.”
Addressing “Biafrans” again for the second time on Saturday in a live broadcast via radio Biafra, Kanu reaffirmed that giving him Biafra is the only way to stop his agitation.
“If you give me referendum I will leave you alone but if you don’t give me referendum I will tear the zoo apart,” Kanu said.
Kanu, who leads the IPOB, has been demanding for a referendum since the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari as Nigeria’s President.
