Islamic Scholar Dr Ahmad Gumi has called on Muslims and Christians to live in peace and harmony with one another in order to end religious crisis in the country.
Gumi was reacting to the crisis witnessed in Kaduna state.
Scores of individuals were killed and several houses set ablaze in a renewed clash between Christians and Muslims in the state.
The crisis followed the murder of the Paramount ruler of Adara Chiefdom, Agwom Adara, His Royal Highness, Maiwada Raphael Galadima.
Speaking to Daily Trust, the Islamic cleric said “My appeal to people is that we need to stay peacefully among ourselves because without peace there can be no progress.
“Without peace, we will continue in this cycle of poverty and ignorance. So I’m calling on both Muslims and Christians to live peacefully among themselves.”
