The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has assured the joint labor of his commitment to workers in Nigeria.
Joint labor have been at loggerhead with the federal government over their demand for an increase in minimum wage.
Labour unions have also threatened to embark of an industrial action on November 6th if their demands are not met.
In a post on his Twitter account on Thursday, the former vice president also assured of his commitment to the principle of a “living wage” to Nigerian workers.
Atiku wrote: “I want the Nigerian Labour Congress, the Trade Union Congress and the generality of Nigeria’s workers to be assured of my commitment to the principle of a living wage for Nigeria’s workers.”
“In my private enterprises, I have shown commitment to the goose that lays the golden egg, and if given the opportunity, I shall extend that commitment to the public sector,” he added.
