The senator representing Kaduna Central at the Nigerian Senate, Shehu Sani, Timipre Sylva, a former governor of Bayelsa to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Concise News had reported earlier that Sylva, a chieftain of the APC, denied reports that he has dumped the APC for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a statement on Thursday, Julius Bokoru, the former Bayelsa governor’s media aide, said the APC chieftain is still a committed member of the APC.
Bokoru said: “Members of the All Progressives Congress and the good people of Bayelsa State, whom this rumour is aimed at, let it be established that Sylva is firmly of the APC and nurses no plan to leave the party to any other party.”
Reacting to the rumour, Senator Sani, who recently moved to the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) after dumping the ruling APC, said it would make more sense if Sylva leaves the APC now rather than later.
The Kaduna Central lawmaker tweeted: “Bro Timi, make you just take style escape from that place, make suffer no come finish you there. Anyway they don hear your threat, but nothing go happen, just take the next canoe and go home,” the senator wrote on Twitter on Thursday evening.
