Rangers Coach Hails 'Warrior Players' After Historic Aiteo Cup Triumph

Rangers gaffer Gbenga Ogunbote has lauded his players following their victory over Kano Pillars in the final of the Aiteo Cup on Wednesday.

The Enugu side recorded a historic comeback in the game after going three goals down to win the tie 4-2 on penalties.

With the win, the Flying Antelopes have now broken a 35-year jinx in the competition.

Speaking after the game, Ogunbote hailed his players for their resilience in the clash, saying he is proud of them.

He, however, lamented his side’s defending against the Kano-based team and said the club is far from being top-notch.

Rangers will now represent Nigeria in the next season’s Caf Confederation Cup.
