Newly appointed coach of Wikki Tourists, Aliyu Zubairu has said that his mission to Bauchi is to ensure that the club ranks among the best in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The Giant Elephant have managed to escape relegation in the past two seasons after playing so well under Abdu Maikaba and even ending the season in third and fourth some seasons back.
Unveiled by the management of the club on Monday, Zubairu stated that his mission to the club is to change the last two seasons order and ensure that Wikki reclaim their lost glory as among the top teams in Nigeria.
“I am happy to join Wikki Tourists and now that the unveiling has been done, I can say that the necessary change has come and it will start immediately,” Zubairu told Goal.
“We will try our best to ensure that Wikki become among the leading clubs in Nigeria. The club only needs a little adjustment here and there. I know that very soon the club will be the talk of all.”
The former assistant coach of Akwa United said that he would need the support of all at the club to make his job smooth-sailing and that he is willing to being his managerial acumen to the table to ensure that Wikki succeed.
“I can’t do it alone. I will need the support of everyone at the club,” he continued.
“Our emphasis is on making Wikki great again. We can do it if everyone at the club contributes their part to make it work.”
