Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has applauded his team-mates for playing “sexy football” as they came from behind to dispatch Leicester City 3-1 at the Emirates on Monday night.
Ozil scored the equaliser on the stroke of half-time after Hector Bellerin had scored an own-goal early on, before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s second-half double.
The former Germany international, who was captain on the night, played a key role in the goals scored by the Gabonese as the Gunners recorded their 10th successive win in all competitions this season.
Unai Emery’s charges, by virtue of the win, climbed to fourth in the Premier League standings.
“I think we played some sexy football tonight. Proud captain of this team and this club!” Ozil said on his Twitter handle.
