Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has regretted the apparent failure of Senator Shehu Sani to return to the Senate after quitting the All Progressives Congress on Saturday.

The Senator representing Kaduna Central District in the Upper Chambers on Saturday wrote a letter of resignation to the leadership of the APC in protest of the primary election that saw him losing the party’s ticket to Governor Nasir El Rufai’s choice, Uba Sani.

Reacting to the development on his Twitter page, Fani-Kayode, a chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said it is a pity that Sani who said is a strong voice in the Senate won’t be returning.

He tweeted: “It really is a pity that @ShehuSani will not be going back to the Senate. He was a strong voice and a great advocate of justice and peace. How I wish he had left APC long ago and joined PDP. I have always had immense respect for him and he remains a good friend. I wish him well.”

Meanwhile, Senator Sani on Sunday insisted he would contest the forthcoming election despite resigning from the APC. He promised to make his next move known soon.
