Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has said Nigeria did not improve but rather dropped three points in the recent Global Competitiveness Index rankings.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) had released the rankings on Wednesday with the West African nation ranked 115th.

Nigeria moved 10 places up in the rankings having been placed 125th out of 137 countries ranked in 2017.

However, Omokri has said that Nigeria, contrary to reports, did not improve but dropped some points in the rankings.

In a tweet, he said “You may have seen the sponsored report by @MBuhari’s government claiming that Nigeria improved by 10 points in the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Index.

“This is a big lie. Nigeria actually retrogressed by 3 points. Never believe anything they tell you!”
