Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho is not “good enough” as the Super Eagles number one shot-stopper, a former international Peter Rufai has said.
Uzoho, 19, manned the post for the Eagles at the 2018 World Cup in Russia where the team crashed out after winning one game and losing two.
He was also in goal for the three-time African champions’ back-to-back 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers with Libya recently.
But Rufai has said Uzoho needs a whole lot of nurturing as he is still young to be the West African’s first choice.
“Uzoho is not good enough to be Number one, he should be understudying ahead of the years ahead of him in the National team,” he told Brila FM.
He thus urged the team’s handlers to scout for other goalkeepers in the country.
