President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday presided over the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council.
The meeting which started at about 11.01am with Buhari’s arrival held inside the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, Mustapha Shehuri, said the Muslim prayer, while the Christian prayer was offered by the Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung.
Embattled Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, is among council members attending the meeting.
Shittu has been the subject of public discussion over his failure to participate in the mandatory one year national service as required by the law.
This has since cost him a chance to contest for governor of Oyo State after the ruling All Progressives Congress disqualified him from contesting.
There have been calls from different quarters for Shittu to resign as a minister following the NYSC scandal, however, he has remained in his position.
