The Libya interim coach Omar Al-Maryami has said his team would defeat the Super Eagles in a 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier on Tuesday.
Nigeria had beaten the North Africans 4-0 in the first leg of the back-to-back qualifier on Saturday to climb to second on the Group E standing.
However, Al-Maryami is confident the team would beat Nigeria on Tuesday in Sfax, lamenting some elementary mistakes his players made in the first leg.
“We were unlucky not to have scored minutes after we conceded, but this result hasn’t changed anything. We have a good team and we will fight,” Al-Maryami told Complete Sports.
“We have a young squad that is very ambitious. We lost the game due to some little details and the first goal we conceded affected us.
“Unfortunately, we lost three points but we are sure of taking them back in the second leg, but we must attack the Nigerian team to score.”
Libya are third in the standing with four points from two games as South Africa lead the pack with seven points.
