Governor of Lagos Akinwunmi Ambode will on Monday announce plans for the 2019 edition of the yearly Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.
Spokesperson for the title sponsor, Olukayode Thomas, said that the governor would be meeting with newsmen as well as other sponsors.
He also revealed that the race organiser and Chairman of Nilayo Sports Management Company, Bukola Olopade, and the race’s General Manager, Yussuf Alli, would also be at the meeting.
“The media have been very resourceful and of immense help in the past editions of the Marathon Race, so it is only proper that we brief them accordingly to see our past achievements and also let them into our projections into the future,” Thomas said.
Kenyan-born Frenchman Abraham Kiprotich won the men’s category of the 2018 Lagos City Marathon, while Herpha Guta of Ethiopia emerged as the winner of the women’s race.
