The Super Eagles must be focussed to win the return leg of the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier with Libya on Tuesday, ex-international Tijani Babangida has advised.
Nigeria mauled the Mediterranean Nights 4-0 on Saturday in Uyo to go second in the Group E standing for the race to Cameroon.
However, Babangida has urged the team to maintain focus as they go for the game in Sfax so they can beat the North Africans.
“It was a good performance from the Super Eagles against Libya,” Babangida told Complete Sports.
They fought really hard against a tough opposition and I want to commend them for their efforts.
“The Libyans gave us a good fight, but our players did well to weather the storm which was quite commendable.
“Now, they must concentrate on the next game on Tuesday. I hope we can win that as well to improve our chances of qualifying for the AFCON.
“It’s a shame that we have failed to qualify for the last two editions of the competition and we can’t afford to miss out again.”
