Governor’s elect, Fayemi (Left) & Incumbent Governor of Ekiti, Fayose (Right)

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has said he won’t attend the inauguration of Kayode Fayemi next Tuesday because he would be meeting with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The incoming governor of Ekiti State, Fayemi, had invited Governor Fayose, President Muhammadu Buhari and other chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to his inauguration.

However, speaking to newsmen on Thursday, the outgoing governor stated that he has no personal issue with Dr. Fayemi.

Fayose said: “If I should attend the programme, some politicians may use the chance to harass me even when they are not sent by Fayemi.

“This will further destroy the relationship. Issues between me and Fayemi are not personal. I have been cooperating with the committee set up by Fayemi on this transition

“Again, I have to be in the EFCC office in Abuja on Tuesday. But let me say clearly that I am ready to appear before any panel set up by the incoming government to probe my administration,” Fayose boasts.
