Several reactions have trailed former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s endorsement of the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate for the 2019 elections, Atiku Abubakar.

Obasanjo endorsed Atiku at a meeting on Thursday, saying he was willing to work with the former vice president to realise his presidential ambition and take the nation out of its challenges.

Also at the meeting were the leader of Afenifere Pa Ayo Adebanjo, the General Overseer of the Living Faith Minister Bishop David Oyedepo, Outspoken clerics Bishop Matthew Kukah and Sheikh Ahmed Gumi.

And some Nigerians have said the meeting was a welcome development, suggesting that with Obasanjo’s backing, Atiku has a good chance of beating President Muhammadu Buhari of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

However, others questioned the impact such move would have next, saying that Buhari would be returned after the polls.
