The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Kola Oluwawole has been impeached by the House.
Oluwawole, who was impeached by fourteen members of the House on Thursday, was immediately replaced by Ebenezer Alagbada
The lawmakers also removed the deputy speaker and principal officers of the House and also announced the suspension of some members.
The lawmakers cited abuse of office and mismanagement of the resources of the House among other reasons for their actions.
Still on Ekiti, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has set up a special panel to grill outgoing governor of the State Ayodele Fayose over allegations of financial impropriety. Fayose will exit the government house for his successor Kayode Fayemi on October 15th.
