Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has slammed the National Leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu, for saying the crisis between farmers and herdsmen was due to the scarcity of water.
Tinubu had explained that the desertification in most parts of the North had caused herdsmen to move southward with their cattle in search of greener pastures.
Reacting in a post on his Twitter page, Fani-Kayode accused the former Lagos state governor of trying to cover up the motive behind the mass murder and ethnic cleansing by herdsmen.
He wrote: “To claim that the genocidal agenda of the herdsmen is due to water scarcity, climate change or the drying up of River Chad is a pernicious and disingenuous lie.
“The attempt to cover up the motive and identity of those who indulge in mass murder and ethnic cleansing is despicable.”
