Nigeria international Moses Simon has assured the country that the Super Eagles will not miss out on another Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in 2019.

The three-time African champions failed to qualify for the last two editions of the continent’s biggest football showpiece.

And they are two places behind in Group E in the race to next year’s tournament in neighbouring Cameroon.

Gernot Rohr’s men will host the group leaders, Libya, on 13 October at the Akwa Ibom Stadium, Uyo, then travel to Tunisia days later for the reverse fixture.

Libya top the group on four points, same as South Africa, who beat Nigeria away from home last year.

“We all want to be part of next year’s Africa Cup of Nations. We will take our chances in both games and give our best,” he said, according to the team’s Twitter handle.

“We urge our fans to wear green and white and fill up the stadium on match day.”
