The Transmission Company of Nigeria has said it has finished and energized a new 330/132kV transmission substation in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.
This was announced by the TCN General Manager (Public Affairs) Ndidi Mbah in a statement on Sunday.
According to Mbah, the contract was handed out in 2006 and was scheduled to be finished in 18 months which did not happen due to poor capacity.
“Instead, the company handed over the completion of the project to the TCN task team about two months ago. The team completed the 330kV side of the substation two weeks back,” he added.
According to him, the substation includes 150MVA 330/132kV and 60MVA 132/33kV power transformers which would be work for six communities: Gaidam, Buni Yagi, Buni Gari, Ngamdu, Baimari, Yunusari Damaturu metropolis.
