Senators Dino Melaye and Ben Murray-Bruce on Monday failed to report to the commissioner of police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Garki.
The duo were invited to appear at the command’s headquarters over their conduct during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) protest on Friday in Abuja over Osun State election results.
Senate President Bukola Saraki was also invited alongside the two senators in an earlier invitation, released by the police on Friday. But in a twist, his name was removed in another invitation letter released on Sunday.
No reason was given for the change of decision.
According to Vanguard, Melaye and Murray-Bruce were yet to honour the invitation two hours after the time they were directed to appear before the FCT police boss.
It was gathered that the Command’s commissioner was holding a crucial meeting with top officers of the command as at the time of filing this report.
