Nigeria lost their opening game in the group and cannot afford to drop more points in the Afcon qualifiers

Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo is confident that the Super Eagles will beat Libya in their back-to-back Group E 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers.

The three-time African champions had lost their opening group game at home to South Africa in 2017 but bounced back with a 3-0 spanking of Seychelles in September.

And Omeruo knows that the Super Eagles cannot afford to drop more points against Libya, who lead the group on four points after two matches.

Nigeria will host the Mediterranean Knights in the first leg in Uyo on Saturday, October 13, before facing the north Africans in the city of Sfax, Tunisia, on Tuesday, October 16.

“We will be up against a strong Libya side. But we are the Super Eagles and we have a great squad,” the defender said, according to a tweet on the team’s handle.

“We will give our all to pick maximum points from both games.

“I have confidence in the entire crew. We urge our fans to give us all the support. We will not disappoint you all.”
