Zamfara State Governor Abdul’aziz Yari has said he is not under pressure to leave the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
There are reports that Yari had left the APC due to the recent impasse in the party.
However, a statement over the weekend, the leader said the news making rounds is false.
“I remain in APC and I will never leave the party. No amount of pressure will make me leave the APC,” he said.
“I was among the founders of this party, I was in Lagos, Nasarawa states for meetings before we gave birth to the APC, therefore no amount of pressure will make me to leave the party.
“You know, changing political party is not my tradition, therefore I will not change the party and the rumour going round is not true, I am not under any pressure to leave the party.”
Some governors under the APC had on Thursday met with the National Chairman of the party Adams Oshiomhole over the crisis in the state primary election.
And on Friday, Oshiomhole sacked the Zamfara party executives, saying the botched primary election stands.
