The US Senate on Saturday confirmed President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh as Supreme Court Judge, amid controversy sexual abuse allegations.

The Senate voted 50-48 to approve Kavanaugh in a major win for Trump as more than 1,000 protesters rallied in Washington against a nominee who had to overcome questions over his candour, partisan rhetoric and lifestyle as a young man.

Kavanaugh was accused of sexual abuse by a university professor named Christine Blasey Ford when both were high schools students in Maryland and Kavanaugh denied the accusation.
