Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State on Saturday met with the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, at the ruling party’s National Convention in Abuja.
Ambode posed for photographs with Tinubu and the newly elected candidate of the APC for the 2019 Lagos governorship election, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, before taking his seat.
This meeting is coming after the Lagos governorship primary, which held on Tuesday, October 2.
Delegates to the national convention were still making their way into the Eagle Square, Abuja, venue of the event as at 9:45 pm.
The event, which was earlier slated to begin at 12:00 noon, was later shifted to 6:00pm before it was later moved to 9:00pm.
Delegates and guests started arriving at the venue at 8:00 pm while several cultural groups were on hand to entertain them.
About 7,000 delegates are expected to attend the event in which President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to be formally presented as the APC presidential candidate for the 2019 elections.
