The results of the Oyo South All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election has emerged with the state governor, Abiola Ajimobi, becoming the ruling party’s flagbearer for 2019 in the state.

Concise News had reported earlier that Governor Ajimobi defeated his opponent, Dr Fola Akinosun, at the primary election.

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election committee in Oyo state, Ademola Seriki, who announced the results, described the exercise as another successful primary that the committee had conducted.

Below are the results of the election…

Governor Abiola Ajimobi – 2,659 votes

Dr Fola Akinosun – 168 votes.

Speaking after being declared the winner of the election, Ajimobi applauded the electoral committee for conducting what he described as an hitch-free and smooth primary, despite the earlier delay.

“I look forward to going back to the Red Chamber to contribute my quota to the national debate and the progress of the nation. I wish to bring to fore my parliamentary experience to grow a Nigeria that the next generation will be proud of”, the governor said.
