Former House of Representatives member Patrick Obahiagbon on Tuesday reportedly begged Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC) members to vote for him as the party’s flagbearer in the Edo South Senatorial District election.

Senator Mathew Urhoghide of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) represents the district at the National Assembly.

Obahiagbon was elected to the lower chamber in 2007 until his appointment as Chief of Staff to Governor Adams Oshiomole in 2011.

Following the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari at the general elections in 2015, Obahiagbon commended the Buhari administration for “showing spartan discipline that was already yielding results”. He also pleaded with APC state party members to be patient with Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State.

In 2017, he became the representative of the South-South states in the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF).
