President Muhammadu Buhari has met with Governors Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state and his Kaduna state counterpart, Nasir el-Rufai at the presidential villa in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
It was learned that the governors arrived at Aso Rock around 3.15pm and walked straight into President Buhari’s office.
Buhari’s New Media aide, Bashir Ahmad, confirmed the meeting on his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday evening.
The Presidential aide tweeted: “President Muhammadu Buhari meets with Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State this evening at the State House, Abuja.”

The meeting is coming 24 hours after the national working committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, disqualified Uba Sani, the preferred candidate of El-Rufai, for the Kaduna central senatorial election.
The incumbent senator, Shehu Sani, who was cleared for the primary, is at loggerheads with the governor.
But at the time of this report, the purpose of the meeting had yet to be made known.
