At Last, Buhari Calls Leah Sharibu's Mother

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday called Mrs Rebecca Sharibu, mother of the Dapchi schoolgirl, Leah, who was kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists.

Buhari, who made this known on micro-blogging site, Twitter, said he assured the mother that his heart was with her family, like that of the entire nation, which continues to pray for the safe return of Leah.

“Today I spoke with Mrs Rebecca Sharibu, to reiterate our determination to bring her daughter Leah back home safely,” he tweeted.

“The thoughts & prayers of all Nigerians are with the Sharibu family, & the families of all those still in captivity.

“We will do everything we can to bring them back,” the tweet added.

Leah was the only Christian among the 119 students of Government Girls Secondary School, Dapchi, Yobe state, abducted in February, 2018.
