Reno Omokri, a former presidential media aide, has reacted to the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Lagos state, Nigeria’s commercial city.

Concise News had reported earlier that Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who has the backing of the National Leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, is leading the incumbent governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, by a landslide in the results of the election announced at the time of this report.

The election, which was moved three times, commenced with the accreditation of electorates at exactly 9:00 am while voting commenced immediately.

The election is taking place in all the wards and local government areas in the southwest state.

Reacting to the results, Omokri said the outcome of the election so far, shows that Governor Ambode is pained and hence the PDP must capitalise on the situation by giving the governor an automatic ticket of the opposition party.

The Presidential media aide, who said the current Lagos APC situation was the best thing to happen to the state chapter of the PDP, called on the opposition party to not only give Ambode the ticket but should allow the governor pick his deputy as that was the only way to win the 2019 governorship election in the southwest state.

Omokri tweeted: “What is happening in Lagos is the best thing to happen to Lagos in the last 19 years. Guys do not waste this once in a lifetime opportunity. is pained. Give him your ticket or allow him pick your candidate’s deputy and victory is yours,” he wrote.
