English Premier League side Arsenal have celebrated Nigeria as it marks it 58th Independence anniversary on Monday.
The Gunners who took to their social media platforms to mark the special day had a picture of Nigeria star Alex Iwobi alongside a caption “Happy Independence Day.”
Iwobi, a former England youth international, had switched allegiance to Nigeria in 2016 and was part of the Super Eagles team that played at the 2018 Fifa World Cup.
Concise News had earlier reported President Muhammadu Buhari as saying that “We have so much for which we should be grateful, and in which we should rightly take pride.
“Our journey is not finished but we have come a long way.’
