The results of the Sokoto All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election has emerged with the incumbent deputy governor, Ahmed Aliyu, becoming the ruling party’s flagbearer for 2019 in the state.

Concise News can report that report that Aliyu will be contending with the immediate past commissioner of Local Development and Community Development, Manir Dan-Iya,  who emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate.

The returning officer and chairman of the state gubernatorial primary election, Sulaiman Abubakar, said Aliyu polled a total of 2,282 votes.

Below are the results of the election…

Ahmed Aliyu – 2,282 votes

Faruk Malami Yabo – 837 votes

Abubakar Gumbi – 70  votes

Senator Abubakar Gada – 20 votes.

In his acceptance speech, Aliyu vowed to use his wealth of experience in politics to reclaim the state for the APC.
