The results of the Benue Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election has emerged with Governor Samuel Ortom becoming the opposition party’s flagbearer for 2019 in the state.
Concise News had reported earlier that the Benue governor defeated other three contestants; John Tondo, Paul Orhii and Felix Atume at the primary election.
Hajia Zainab Maina, the Chairman of the PDP Electoral Panel for the state, who announced the result, said the election was free, fair, peaceful and conducted in accordance with the party’s constitution.
Below are the results of the election…
Governor Samuel Ortom – 2,210 votes
John Tondo – 475 votes
Felix Atume – 44 votes
Paul Orhii – 10 votes
Invalid votes: 0.
In his acceptance speech, Governor Ortom commended the delegates for re-electing him as the party candidate, adding that he would ensure unity among party members for the progress of PDP.
