Tunde Balogun, the Chairman of Lagos state chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to the claims made by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode about his membership card.
Concise News recalls that the Lagos State Governor had said he was concerned that with less than 24 hours to the primaries, membership cards had yet to be distributed, while even as an aspirant, he had yet to be given guidelines for the election.
Ambode had added that it would be an injustice to deny newly registered members of the party the opportunity to exercise their franchise.
“We are committed progressives; we are committed to the outcome of the primaries, but what we will not accept is the disenfranchisement of millions of people that we have been able to bring into the APC fold just by our performance”, Ambode had said.
“What we heard is that there is a register that is being brought into the state which has only those who have registered since 2014. What about all the millions of members of APC that we have gotten in from 2015 till date?” the governor had questioned.
However, reacting to the claims while addressing journalists at the party secretariat in Acme, the Lagos APC chairman noted that he made several attempts to reach the Governor but, he rejected his phone calls.
Balogun used the opportunity to display Ambode’s membership card and asked him to come for it at the party secretariat.
