Senator Shehu Sani (APC-Kaduna Central) has commended the National Labour Congress (NLC) for suspending its industrial action.
Concise News had reported that the NLC had called off its seven-day warning strike aimed at pressing home its demand for the implementation of a new minimum wage.
President of the union Ayuba Wabba made this known on Sunday.
Wabba said the strike was called off due to the firm and formal assurance of the Federal Government to reconvene the tripartite committee on the new minimum wage.
Reacting in a post on Twitter, Sani called on the federal government to honour terms and agreement reached with labour.
“I commend the NLC for suspending the strike and I call on the FG to honour the terms and agreement reached with the Workers union,” he wrote.
